Friday Keynote Speaker: Patrick Leaveck
Director of Midwestern States for Project Lead the Way
"Project Lead the Way: Partnering to Improve High School Education in Engineering and Technology"
Project Lead The Way Inc. (PLTW) is a national program forming partnerships among Public Schools, Higher Education Institutions and the Private Sector to increase the quantity and quality of engineers and engineering technologists graduating from our educational system. Pat Leaveck is involved in the promotion, awareness and school support responsibilities for the program throughout the Midwest and nationwide. He will explain the program and describe how engineering colleges can become involved in the preparation of their future students.
Saturday Keynote Speaker: Dr. Dean Schroeder
Herbert and Agnes Schulz Professor of Management and Director of the MBA Program at Valparaiso University
"Engineering and Business: Professional Colleges and Professional Colleagues"

Dr. Schroeder will discuss the relationships between engineering and business and the strong opportunities for collaboration between faculty in those two disciplines. Such opportunities include developing an integrated Engineering/MBA program, teaching essential business skills to engineering students, and teaching business students about the importance of emerging technologies.
